Pawsonality

Privacy policy

The short version: your dog's name and photo never leave your device, and this site sets no cookies.

Who is responsible

This site is run by [TODO: owner's full name or company name], [TODO: postal address]. You can reach us at TODO-contact@example.com.

Your quiz result, your dog's name and photo

So your result isn't lost when you reload the page or come back from another page, the site keeps your quiz answers, your dog's name and your photo (reduced in size) in your browser tab, on your device. They are used to personalise the questions, your result and your share card. They stay there until you close the tab or start a new quiz. They are never sent to our server or to anyone else. To delete them, close the tab.

When you share

If you share your result, you choose what to send and to whom. A WhatsApp message includes your dog's name, and a shared image shows the name and photo, but they go from your device straight to the app you picked. Links to our site never contain the name or photo.

Analytics

We use two cookie-free tools to improve the site. Umami Cloud counts visits and a few anonymous actions, such as starting the quiz, getting a result, saying whether it sounds like your dog, tapping a share button, or something failing to work. It also learns whether you added a name or a photo: only yes or no, never the name or photo itself. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures how fast our pages load. Neither one uses cookies or follows you across other websites, and we never send them your dog's name, photo or any personal information.

Cookies and storage

This site sets no cookies. Apart from your quiz result, described above, which only lasts as long as your tab, the only things saved in your browser are your choice of light or dark theme, so the site opens the way you left it, your license key if you use the keepsake maker or the game (see "Your license key" below), and the game's best score on your current ticket. Your tab also keeps a short note of what it has already counted for our analytics (for example, that you saw the report offer for your dog's type), so a reload isn't counted twice. It goes when you close the tab.

Buying a report

Payment and delivery of the PDF are handled by our checkout partner, [TODO: checkout provider's name], on their own page and under their own privacy policy. We never see your card details.

Your license key

If you bought the Keepsake edition, the keepsake maker asks for the license key from your receipt. The game asks for one too. The page sends that key, and nothing else, to our own server, which asks [TODO: checkout provider's name] whether it is valid and which product it belongs to. For the keepsake maker, our server stores nothing. For the game, it keeps a scrambled (hashed) copy of the key and the time your 4-hour ticket started, for 12 months, so a ticket can't be restarted. It never stores or records the key itself. Once the keepsake maker or the game unlocks, the key is saved in your browser on this device, so it opens again next time without asking. It stays there until you tap "Use a different key" on the keepsake page, your game ticket ends, or you clear this site's data in your browser. The game's scores stay on your device. Your dog's name and photo are never sent.

Hosting

The site is hosted by [TODO: hosting provider's name, address and phone number].

Newsletter

If you choose to subscribe, we send your email address to EmailOctopus, our email newsletter provider, who store it and send you our emails. You'll get a confirmation email first (double opt-in), and every email has an unsubscribe link. We only send your email address — never your dog's name, photo or quiz answers. We send newsletters occasionally, only when we have something worth sharing; there's no fixed schedule. See EmailOctopus's own privacy policy at https://emailoctopus.com/privacy-policy.
